I’m not sure how your summer’s been, but the staff of The Hungry Southerner has been roasting! After several days of temperatures in the 90’s, a cool white wine is a great way to beat the heat on a warm summer night. We’ve got two great options that are light, crisp and refreshing. The first is a Sauvignon Blanc from Cupcake Vineyards, recommended by one of our readers back in May. Thanks Kevin! The second is a Trinty Oaks Pinot Grigio. Give them both a try and let us know your favorite.

Tuesday Wine: Yin and Yang
This week, I thought I’d try two reds on opposite ends of the flavor spectrum. For a heavier, medium bodied wine, I chose a Malbec from Pascual Toso. On the lighter side, I selected a Pinot Noir from Mark West. Tuesday Wine: Summer Reds and Wanderlust
Over the Memorial Day weekend, we had a few friends over for a potluck dinner and had a chance to sample two more Tuesday wines, which couldn’t have been more different. Tuesday Wine
Not long after we moved into our current house outside of Atlanta, we started sharing things with the next-door neighbors: cups of sugar, random garden tools and bottles of wine. The concept of Tuesday wine developed as a shortcut way to borrow some decent, but inexpensive wine for a mid-week dinner. You know, when you’ve just pulled a steak off the grill, realized that you’re slap out of wine and can’t stand the thought of getting back in the car for just a bottle of wine? Tuesday wine fits the bill perfectly – not necessarily something you’d let age in the wine cellar (as if we had one) but good enough for a random Tuesday. The following is a review of two reds I picked up recently for just such an occasion.
